gourmet garage - a tuesday treat

My friend Fay told me about the catering company Dish quite a while ago when Lucie and I were looking for quotes from wedding caterers.  She also mentioned the Tuesday specials and I signed up for their newsletter immediately.  However, it was only this week that I made use of this incredible offer.  A bit like Woolies try to do from time to time, they have a Tuesday meal for 4 for R100 (and a dessert for an extra R50).  Take a look at their website:-

On Monday I tried to order 2 of their R100 specials (one for hungry Nic and his housemates and 1 for ourselves).  I had some difficulty with entering my credit card details and kept loosing the screen so I gave up.  I fully intended putting in a phone order first thing on Tuesday (you can order up until 10.30 on the Tuesday).  As soon as I arrived at work, I received a phone call from a very charming Matthew.  I placed my order and arranged for Nic to collect after 2.30.  You collect at their new premises at 423 Main Road, Observatory (old Wunders building).  What great service.

So yesterday evening I was presented with the following:-

the full package

 a real party packet
 contents of the packet
roasted sun dried tomatoes, grilled bringals, calamata olives (pitted), smoked chicken and a bag of rocket

what the pizza's in the boxes looked like
adding the ingredients

out of the over - what a work of art
 with added rocket
and a glass of perfectly chilled wine
(my favourite sauvignon blanc at the moment)
Everything was delicious, the bases thin and crispy, the smoked chicken of the homemade variety and great olives (I have plenty leftover olives because some fuss-pots (Michael, Amy and Kelly)
do not know what they are missing)

Nic was very impressed with the whole set up.  Apparently they had a woodfire burning if you wanted to have your pizzas cooked while you waited., you could do it.

The whole concept is brilliant and I have now persuaded Gill to join in.  If a couple of us do it, we can take turns in collecting on a Tuesday.  Sign up for the newsletter and give it a try.
